When Heather Lezla heads out for a walk in her Arlington neighborhood, she’s actually on one of the coolest scavenger hunts ever. She packs up a wagon, a rolling pin and slabs of clay then goes hunting for interesting surfaces to imprint into the clay. It could be a road sign, a cap embedded in the sidewalk or the leaves of plants around her house. Since she’s schooled in ceramic sculpture and has long worked in galleries and studios, she takes those little snapshots of her world and turns them into herb markers, coasters and other useful objects of beauty.
